Landscape Horticulturist Award
The Manitoba Nursery Landscape Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the interests of horticulture and landscape professionals. MBNLA’s members are businesses and individuals committed to upholding the highest standards of the nursery and landscape industry. The charitable arm of MBNLA is the Landscape Manitoba Horticultural Foundation, aka The Hort Fund. Its objective is to promote horticultural education by means of scholarships at horticultural institutions and to promote progress in horticultural research at universities, colleges, government institutions and nurseries. This academic award aims to achieve these goals by:
- Promoting the professional development of individuals already working in the profession.
- Attracting and encouraging quality students who will make valuable contributions to the profession.
DESCRIPTION
Awarded to a Landscape Horticulture student (of any level) that demonstrates exceptional interest and contribution to the green profession in Manitoba. This award is meant to cover the registration cost for one level of the Landscape Horticulturist Red Seal program.
AMOUNT
$550 (maximum of 2 award winners; from all levels, per school year)
Winners will be chosen by MBNLA’s Professional Development Committee. The panel may seek additional information from RRC Polytech instructors about class participation and academic performance.
